The Knit Kickers Knitting Club and Ladies Auxiliary held its semi-monthly meeting in the back room of the Bluebird Diner on Tuesday afternoon. A report concerning the successful conclusion to this weekend’s Possum Day Festival activities was presented by Kickers President and Possum Pickle champion 3 years running Darlene Blush.
Blush reported that this year’s re-enactment of the founding of the town by the club members was possibly the most emotional yet, despite Emma French’s absence due to her injury when she tripped over the Puddlegulch High School mascot Perry Possum during this year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Blush also updated the members on their annual clothes drive for the holidays. Donations appear to be right on schedule.
After the report, the rehearsal times were announced for next month’s presentation of the club’s re-enactment of the Tet Offensive. Since the Ladies’ Historical Society has been meeting at the Bluebird Diner, it was agreed that the next meeting of the Knit Kickers will return to Edna Mersaphat’s den.
The meeting was concluded with a round of the Diner’s famed hot chocolate and an extended round of knitting.
