Jedediah “Jed” Pritchard (March 15, 1931 – December 30)
Douglas Puddle, Obituaries and Classifieds – Jedediah “Jed” Pritchard died in his place of business Saturday after a freak bowling accident. He was a graduate of Puddlegulch High School where he lettered on the varsity bowling team.. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Bowling Industry Management and Technology on a full bowling scholarship. He moved to Singleton after college where he met and married Eleanor Ann Bowles before returning to his hometown where he worked for 5 years with Crumbpacker Feed and Seed before establishing the Bowlarama bowling alley.
Mr. Pritchard was an avid golfer and volunteered with the After School Radical Youth League.
He was preceded in death by his parents , 5 sisters, 3 brothers, first wife Eleanor, their sons Jeffery, Jud and Jim, their daughter Ellie Magillicutty, grandson Butch Magillicutty, and Mr. Pritchard’s second wife. He was 96 years old.
Funeral services will take place at First Fellowship Assembly Restoration Church Wednesday at 3 p.m. with potluck dinner to follow.
Loretta Caldwell (March 7, 1962 – November 20, 2019)
Douglas Puddle, Obituaries and Classifieds – Loretta Caldwell, the former proprietor of The Whispering Possum Inn and Tavern , passed away in Sweet Pastures Nursing Home Monday at the age of 57. She will be greatly missed for her chanting and concern for squirrels. Respects can be paid during her funeral at Ferryman’s Funeral Home on Saturday at 11 a.m. Potluck dinner to follow.
